Darak

About a year ago, actor Mahmoud Hemida was a guest on Darak show, presented by actor Ashraf Abdel Baky. Ashraf Abdel Baky said that he was very honored to be with Hemida, he described him as such a sincere person, and that he noticed him reading different books many times in-between scenes..Hemida: For me, reading is a ritual that helps with work, and I also use music at work.Hemida: Reading is a habit that needs training at first, and of course this is an annoying task.Hemida: I mean, at home, if you are not going to teach your kids to read, they will never get used to it.Hemida: My father was the reason behind why I read and he was the one who encouraged me to read. He used to say when you finish that book tell me so I can ask you about it and then he would tell me a moral story of his.Hemida: The novel War and Peace was the first book my father gave me, so it made me venture into a different world.Hemida: My name is Mahmoud Hemida Hassan Mahmoud Hemida, and my younger brother is named Mohamed Nabih after my grandfather from my mother’s side, then my twin brothers Khaled and Omar were born, and after me my father was worried that people wouldn’t recognize us, so he named me after my grandfather whom I admired so much. My grandfather was a strong and rich farmer and I was his first grandchild, so he used to spoil me a lot, and I liked him and wanted to turn out like him.Hemida: I used to not want to play around, I only wanted to become a man, but I healed from that.Hemida: My studies were between Cairo and Beni Suef.Hemida: I was in the acting team and the team leader was our colleague Ahmed Rateb, and during that period I was studying acting, and I was a professional dancer.Hemida: We were used to traveling with my father wherever he went.Hemida: I was slightly shocked when I faced society. I used to think that I was entering a vast world in which scientific potentials would prosper, and I was shocked that the imagined world I had in mind didn’t exist in university so, I stopped studying.Hemida: I don’t know how to cook, I tried to cook at home 3 times, but I ended up burning the house when I tried to cook trotters. I let it boil in the pot and I fell asleep, it almost set the house on fire. They kept cleaning the house after this disaster but on the next day I did it again.Hemida: At school, I didn’t take lunch or snacks and we had 2 hour breaks then. They used to give us a piece of cheddar cheese, a piece of halva, two large loaves of bread and a bottle of milk.Hemida: I still have friends from university.Hemida: I had a friend from high school who I met at the Beni Suef club after 20 years. I got out a cigarette box and I didn’t share it with anyone, because I know it is not good for health.Hemida: I wrote many songs for my daughters, but all of them got lost.Hemida: I listened to a lot of music, but lately I have been listening to Arabic music only, because my primary concern is Arabic music. I listen to Abdo Dagher, because he is the only author that we have.. and I worked with him for 3 years.Hemida: Radio has the greatest share of what I listen to.Hemida: In a training called “Train Your Child”, give your child a time, and promise them that you will take them to a theme park on Friday, but do not ever go back on your promise. This is a psychological tactic to bring out the child within you.
