El Khataya El Sabae with Amr Ellissy

Interview Summary :

Actor Mahmoud Hemida was a guest on El Khataya El Sabae show, presented by Amr Ellissy, and at the beginning of the episode the guest is supposed to take an oath, and jokingly Ellissy said: You don’t have to take it, I believe you already.
Hemida: I, Heaven forbid, think I am conceited.
Hemida: My mother was the first to discover that I was conceited, and she used to tell me you are arrogant and I never believed her, and when I got older my peers in the class would tell me: “Why are you so arrogant!”
Hemida: Ignorance is the foundation of vanity, and vanity does not last forever.
Hemida: I do not regret anything.. Because there is no point in looking backwards and regretting the past.
Hemida: I always get rid of vanity.. Because vanity is ignorance.
Hemida: I like sharp appointments, whenever someone misses an appointment, I consider them dead. I lost many people due to this.
Hemida: Anger made me lose my cousin and my soul mate.
Hemida: I am lazy, but at work I am not like that at all. At work, God gives me an abundance of energy, so I become a different person.
Hemida: At the beginning of my career in cinema, I used to do a lot of movies, and once a caricature by Ramses was published displaying that Mahmoud Hemida was present in all films, and in one year I made 10 films.
Hemida: I am very socially lazy, and I don’t know why… It could be because I like to be by myself most of the time and that has a great effect on my relationship with people.
Hemida: I don’t gluttonously pursue money and I don’t even think about it.
Hemida: When I made a lot of films, it wasn’t for money, because I was earning 2,000 pounds. However, it was greed for accomplishment and presence.
Hemida: I long for concealment and health.
Hemida: Lust is an essential instinct closely related to our being, but I never fell a victim to it.
Hemida: We ignore lust in our society and embrace it through imagination.
Hemida: I got married twice.. We can classify marriage twice as lust.
Hemida: It is possible for one to envy someone or something without intending to do so as the saying goes: Blessings are not envied by strangers but by their owners.
Hemida: I saw people who envied me, and I saw the result of their envy at once, such as someone who would tell me: Your look very healthy and I suddenly get sick. That happened a lot.
Hemida: The rumor of my death cracked me up, I was watching a show and they had a flash at the bottom where they wrote a few words about me, so the guy thought I died. I said then that people think of that flash as an oration. When I talked to anyone I would ask them if they had heard the news and laugh about it.
Hemida: On gluttony, I love Molokhia. Hussein Al-Imam says that he invited me for food many times, but he never did, and I did not know that Hussein Al-Imam could cook. He once told me: Come to my place, and I will cook for you myself, and I said to him, why will you cook and not your wife then! He told me: My wife doesn’t know how to cook, but I do.
Hemida: I am not easy to penetrate because communication between people is done by penetrating the thoughts of the other person, and everyone has means to defend themselves.
