El Shaka Show

Two years ago, Mahmoud Hemida was a guest on El Shaka Show, presented at that time by actress Hend Sabry.
Hemida: If you call me, Mahmoud Pasha, Aya, my daughter, will be very happy, because she knows that “Pasha” means the shoes of the Sultan.
Hemida: My grandfather, spent his last days in a coma for 6 years, he did not deal with people a lot, and he was a lawyer in the Danshway case. His whole life was about reading, he retired from judiciary and attorneyship, and used to read the Qur’an in the office, and he used to smoke pipe.
Hemida: They used to call me, “Meshmesh.”
Hemida: They wanted my father to work in the film industry. However, my grandfather refused, and when I decided to act, he didn’t object.
Hemida: My father never hit me.
Hemida: Once, when I was 6 years old, I went into the bathroom and smoked 20 cigarettes and I kept puffing. When I opened the bathroom door, I wasn’t aware there would be a cloud of smoke above me. I was severely reprimanded about it.
Hemida: My doctor said I skipped my childhood, so I am living it now.
Hemida: Ismail Yassin is an artistic figure who did not get what he deserves, especially in singing. The voices of Ismail Yassin in acting should be taught because none of his phrases is not tuned musically.
Hemida: An American once told me, “you people get old fast,” and he was 65 years old and he was still dancing whereas we act and feel old under false assumptions.
Hemida: I always miss dancing. I have to dance every day even if I just move around.
Hemida: Fouad Haddad is the first teacher, and the more I read his writings, the more I progress in the way I think about my behavior and human interactions, which is a great thing for me. He is one of the few people I am influenced by.
Hemida: Yes, I adore Fouad Haddad… he is actually the greatest poet of humanity.
Hemida: Umm Kulthum, Ismail Yassin, Mohamed Fawzi and Abdel Muttilib were the ones I listed to when I felt like listening to classical music. I also listen to Umm Kulthum now in a way I didn’t experience when I was younger. I don’t know why. But, I used to sing full songs by her in my sleep, because I was used to talking during sleep when I was young.
Hemida: My friends and I used to hang out and sing “Shahat al-Gharam.”
Hemida: Anwar Wagdy has done everything in cinema, Mohamed Fawzi has only sung for cinema, and Ismail Yassin was the most prolific.
Hemida: The image of Soad Hosny is engraved in the heart.. We were filming Fares Al-Madina, directed by Mohamed Khan, and he was going to see it in the lab. He asked me to come along with him to see it. So, I was going with Fayez Ghali and his wife, and they used to drive me because they resided nearby.. and we started talking outside, and there was Soad Hosny watching the photo album.
She said to me: Do you still listen to Mohamed?
I said to her: Yes, yes.
Then on our way back, he said to me: have you heard what Souad said about you, Mahmoud?
Hemida: I said Souad who?
This situation happened to me with Souad 3 times.
The show included talking about all the interests that Mahmoud Hemida was passionate about, as well as talking about his memories and works.
