In an interview with actor Mahmoud Hemida on Arabwood show, six months ago, he talked a lot about cinema and his participation with young actors in their works, and he also said in response to criticism for accepting some roles:
Hemida: I’m proud of everything I’ve done, whether I was satisfied with it or not.
Titles never occupy his mind… so he said.
Arabwood on Hemida: His great frankness is why the audience loves him.
Arabwood on Hemida: Love was the motive that Mahmoud Hemida was criticized by the audience.
Hemida: The young star is the one who brings in the revenues, so the audience deplores and says that I have become a secondary actor, but I believe that my main job at the moment is to just stand by these stars.
Hemida: If the role I am going to play is not hardcore, I don’t play it.
Hemida: Cinema is for young talents only, not for old people.
Benign: The actor who brings in revenue is a changing matter and doesn’t indicate any value; the value of the person shows in their cinematic role, the ability to stay present, and their achievement of works which the audience regards as timeless.
