Last May, Trending show held a short interview with actor Mahmoud Hemida about the rules for accepting any film. The interview also included his opinion on science fiction films..
Hemida: I deal with all the films in the same way. The scenario is the first thing I check, then I meet up with the director and ask why they want me in particular for this film. If they don’t answer this question with persuasive reasons, I decline.
Hemida: I am happy that I am working on the film El Ghassala.
Hemida: All actors in the film are great.
Hemida: The topic is curious… and here we have a problem in dealing with science fiction, when we make a cinematic discourse that is in line with the philosophical discourse, there comes a gap in thinking and therefore it does not remain original.
Hemida: This scenario is original in proposing the idea of science fiction, meaning it is not mimicked.
Hemida: The visual effects are based on Stephen Hawking’s equations, which are adopted in cinema in America, so we must remain conscious, as it is all about travelling through time, so we must remain aware of what exactly this movement is based on.
