Sky News

In 2016, Sky News channel conducted an interview with actor Mahmoud Hemida.
Hemida: I am supposed to come up with a character I haven’t played before. But the work itself and what it features for discussion, knowledge or research is what compels me, then the elements of the work.. So it is possible that I play a small role next to a young hero or heroine. I think that it is my role now, I actually don’t have a problem if the role is big or small.
Hemida: I did small roles in films of big stars, and I didn’t ask why the roles were small.
Hemida: I took my first lessons on life from my mother of course.. All tongues are foreign except for the mother’s tongue of course. The father’s turn comes in later, meaning after the breastfeeding period.
Hemida: From memories, I was not very talkative, I almost did not speak, I did not apologize, I did not know, and I did not understand what it meant for anyone to bring me a gift, I was very stiff and I wasn’t easy to get along with.
Hemida: Acting is a form of performance I do to entertain people.
Hemida: Screen history is colluding with the history of reality, and there was a stage of life where the pioneers of cinema were aging from 12 to 28 years old, whereas before they aged from 18 to 28 years old, and those are the people who visit the movies weekly.
Hemida: If I was forced or given the choice, I would not leave Egypt.
Hemida: Of course, Egypt is always well, but the residents are the ones who are not well and good, and those who don’t know how to see that are the ones who have a problem.
Hemida: I am always optimistic and my optimism is on the social level.
Hemida: Fouad Haddad’s poetry helps me live.
